I would like to talk about the aerport in Madrid.
You come out of the plane and land in gate K, where you have to walk through crowds of people waiting to board your plane. Then you are made to walk 25 minutes through Departures (even though you've just arrived) ?!! To then arrive at the Baggage Claim. Then you claim your baggage after walking round for 15 minutes figuring out why you are the only one left of the people in your plane. Where did they go? You get your baggage then walk for 15 more minutes to the Exit. Then if you have a connecting flight (like I did) you must do the same route again, backwards to go back to the Departures. I would also like to say that Iberia made me cue for 40 minutes (the lady actually told me which cue I should stand in) to then tell me there was no need for me to cue up as I already had the stuff I needed for the flight. I felt like a headless chicken in Madrid. It was just horrific. Maybe the 15kg backpack I was carrying. Yes backpack. Did not help. Is Madrid airport really badly made? Or have you also had problems?
After all of that I arrived to (my delight) the tiny Seville aerport.
Adter a 20 minute walk from the bus stop under the scorching sun I finally arrived at my piso. The flat is great, spacious, fresh, and my bedroom is very nice. My window looks out unto an old tapas bar which has been packed full of Spanish people since I arrived (must give it a go)!
After settling I joined Claire (the girl who's bedroom I am taking and who has already left) for dinner on the roof terrace. She was doing Erasmus this year and it was all of the Erasmus people's last evening, so they were celebrating. We had tortilla and Seville with it's gliterring monuments was stunning.
